Cool your kids down during hot summer days with this refreshing apple yoghurt bark. An easy, healthy, super cute snack and a must-have in your freezer this summer. Frankly, it's always a big hit in my house!
Your kids will enjoy eating this high-protein, energy boosting yummy and healthy treat. Shhhh.... just don't tell them it's not a real ice-cream.
This yoghurt bark is a great alternative to the traditional ice-cream which can be very high in sugar and saturated fat. If your little ones have a sweet tooth just add a little bit of honey or maple syrup to the yoghurt for a sweeter taste.
Line a baking dish with baking paper and spread apple slices in an even layer. Top it up with the Greek yoghurt.
Spread Greek yoghurt evenly with the spoon or spatula.
Sprinkle with ground cinnamon on top. Use a fork to smear the cinnamon to add a pattern.
Freeze for at least 4 hours or until frozen.
When completely frozen lift the baking paper from the dish and gently peel it off the "bark".
Break the "bark" into small pieces. Serve right away for a refreshing snack or store in an airtight container in a freezer for up to a week.
Recipe Note
Try different flavour combinations, freeze-dried strawberries and vanilla, raisins and cardamon, desiccated coconut and chia seeds, chocolate chips and cocoa powder, raspberry jam and chopped pistachios.
