The marriage made in heaven: CHocolate & CHia (double CH). Not only does one complement the others taste profile, but also they both contain antioxidants and are just super nutritious.
I love adding chia seeds in my recipes. They are a fantastic source of fibre and protein, contribute to good digestive health and are full of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are vital for healthy brain functioning.
This delicious mousse is an easy way to whack an impressive breakfast or mid-day snack up in no time. You can't go wrong either way! It lasts for a couple of days in the fridge (not in mine though).
1/4 cup chia seeds
2 tbsp cocoa powder, unsweetened
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon, ground
To garnish (optional): fresh or frozen fruits or berries, nuts and seeds, granola, Pic's peanut butter, and whipped cream.
Place all the ingredients in a bowl. Whisk well to combine, cover and refrigerate overnight.
When ready to serve, transfer pudding mixture to your blender and blend until smooth. You will notice the colour change from dark brown to the lighter brown and the texture will become more "slimy".
Pour into serving glasses or jars and garnish with your favourite toppings.
